Tips from others who have experience PPROM

The following are tips from others who have experience the pprom journey, valuable advice as knowledge is key, what we know can really help.

Kirsty Bassett, pprom at 19 weeks baby born at 24 weeks.

* Bedrest and rest as much as possible

* Drink plenty

* No baths

* Keep a close eye out for infections,

like BV, group b strep,

* Support from family and friends.

* Don't be scared to ask doctors questions.

* If you feel something is not right for peace of mind it is best to get it checked, and remember the person who knows your body the best, is YOU, so be clear in your communication with staff and do not take no for response if you do not think the information you are given is right.

Sonia Martinez pprom at 15 1/2 weeks but somehow my membranes resealed later on, which according to the doctors it only happens in 1% on the cases of pprom..., and managed to go all the way to 39 weeks, with the outcome of a Beautiful and super healthy baby girl, who is now 13 months. So , from my experience.

The best advise I would give someone going through this would be:

* Plenty of bedrest on your left side to support oxygen flow to your baby

* Drink LOTS of coconut water as It is the BEST hydrating drink nature can give you.

* DO take a bath once a day with coconut soap to help ward off infections

* Also take vitamins C and E in addition to your prenatal as it is believed to prolong the latency, which is the time from where you pprom and the actual delivery of your baby. * And most importantly of all: Think positively and Pray and believe in God, trust me Miracles DO happen and I am looking at a very beautiful one in my home everyday

Good luck to all of you going through this

Kate Gallagher pprom at 22 weeks baby born at 32 weeks 5 days

* To make sure you are given the steroid injections to help the little ones lungs develop

I do think they helped my little boy. He was also born at 32 + 5 weeks and didnt need any help with his breathing.
